Janet Street-Porter Tuesday
This evening we saw the sweetest 6 week old pup at the Dovetail pub called Roxy, and also Janet Street Porter who looked great. This morning on the bus a man caught my eye: young but dressed like an old English country gent in tweeds, a bowtie and a very fetching feather badge. He was laughing to himself listening to his iPod and it made my morning.

The day that England fucked it right up
So we got beaten by Germany. I cared for a second then got distracted by exploring lovely Stoke Newington with Marianna. Abney Park Cemetary is my new favourite place: peaceful, ramshackle, beautiful. Here Marianna reads moving Fathers Day cards left on one of the newer graves.

A motto to live your life by?
As mottos go, I think it's pretty descriptive. I saw this in Farringdon today while doing some work errands; always lovely to find unexpected art in the corporate City. Not sure I agree with the sentiment though - sometimes being silly is just what's called for.

Empty Tuesday
Ooops. I didn't take a single photograph on Tuesday. I was busy back at work then had a busy evening too. I promise to do better.

Secret Photo
Monday: there's a really beautiful man who gets on my bus. Here he was smiling at a man opposite him playing with his baby, it was very sweet. I tried to snap it but all I got was his hands and a tiny bit of his smile.

Fizz, cocktails, friends
Bistroteque for a birthday lunch with two of my favourite people, with a pianist playing pop songs in a classical style. What a lovely day for a birthday party!

Champagne in teacups, cake and vintage things
Tonight I attended the opening of Jessie Chorley and Buddug's gorgeous vintage shop, full of lovely vintage inspired jewellery and knick knacks. Fizz served in china, double bass jamming and a raffle.

Music Makes The World A Better Place
Technically I'm not 28 yet. I'm a week off, so consider these some warm-up shots...
Spotted on my bus in Hackney. The way the text is laid out on the bag makes me think it says 'Music makes the world a better place.' I hope it doesn't say 'Muse makes the world a better place' because their new single actually made me a bit angry this morning. Anyway, if it's the former, I absolutely, wholeheartedly agree.

I know that I'm unoriginal
I love taking photos. I'm turning 28 in 8 days and thought that I should give myself more of a purpose. Not that there's anything wrong with my ad-hoc personal shots, but I think that the aim of getting one nice photograph of anything per day is a good thing to aim for. Even if this is just for me and a personal reportage of my 28th year on earth. I think it's going to be a vintage one.
Now I don't want to get too bogged down with the writing aspect of this. The internet is awash with half-arsed, pseudo-psycho 'confessional' blogs which are nothing more than an extended exercise in the sort of personal branding we engage with via Twitter and Facebook. "Oh my god, I'm like SO creative, if I don't like pour my thoughts out to strangers then I feel like, incomplete yeah?" No. I won't be on here using it like a virtual teenage diary.
It's just going to be some photos. Of all sorts. Mundane. Amazing. Ugly. Beautiful. Whatever.
